Dakar 2011
Any of you dirtbiking guys keeping up with the Dakar Rally this week ?
Jonah Street USA is pushing hard and riding in 7th place. He keeps gaining a position or two every stage.
the guy can ride.
I wish I had the VS channel , its on every day on that channel or you can watch video's from youtube or the Dakar 2011 site itself.

Re: Dakar 2011
I usually watch the Rally on Versus channel but have missed it this year somehow. Thanks for the heads-up.
My dream was to race the Baja 1000 on a bike. I'd still love to race it but in a truck!

If you can afford the truck I'd love to be your co driver/ navigator.
There was 4 guys from Ga Offroad forum that teamed up and did the Baja1000 this year. they houred out just before the end. But they still finished the race. Its a good read and some good video if you want to check it out.
I've got a friend that wants to run the cherokee enduro in Feb,,,, I told him today that I'm in. but just for the fun of riding some new ground. And I'm put'n in for the back row, so I want get used for traction cause I know its gonna be a mud bath.

Re: Dakar 2011
I'm afraid it will have to remain a dream....
Before my shoulder surgeries in '09, we rode more in winter than the hot summer. I actually grew to love the slop as I felt it gave us old guys an advantage over the young guns.
Good luck with the race and have fun!

Frustration is a killer for the younger guys. Its truly a mental thing when things get rough that can take you from a big smile and reduce you to tears when your trying to pry the bike out of a muddy vacuum.
