Campground, Houston Texas
I just returned home from a month in Houston being treated for lung cancer. We were fortunate in having friends that had stayed at the South Main R.V. Park, 10100 South Main St. and told us about it. It is an older park, well kept, spotless bath house, great people who cater to the ill folks that are staying there. One of the most important features of this park is a free shuttle to all the hospitals in the Texas Medical Center, saving $15.00 a day parking fees. This park is located within two miles of the hospitals, and there are many restraunts, drug stores, grocery and a Target on this street. It is very convenient to everything. Most people in the park are going through some kind of illness, but are very helpful. Staying in this park was a pleasant experience even under my circumstances.

James and Barbara,
Sorry to hear about the lung cancer. Our thoughts are with you and we will both pray for a recovery.
Thanks for the info about the campground, and that the stay there was a positive experience. The free shuttle sounds great. We've never been to Houston, except to change planes at the airport. We've heard that traffic there is a real pain in the neck, and having the shuttle must have been a real load off your mind.

Thanks for the great information about the campground. I am looking at making a trip to the heart center since the doctors around my home said they have done everything they can do for a person. I had to go out of town in 2006 to Birmingham, AL for medical treatment. So after the first of the year I will go over to Houston and see what they say.
Hope you the best of luck. Again thanks for the information.

Rhino, sounds like you will need to go to St. Lukes Heart and Lung Center where I was. There are some great Dr's there. I was fortunate to get an older gentleman who had operated on a friend and saved his life. The Dr. has over 1100 heart transplants to his credit. Any other Dr. would have sewn me back up and just sent me to radiation and chemo, but he got all the tumor and most of the cancer cells. Will do radiation and chemo starting in Jan.
You will be in my prayers. If you need any info, please feel free to contact me.

One of the dread full facts about Cancer is the fact that every one knows some one who is affected. I think the figures are about 1 in 4
people will be treated for various forms of Cancer. Lets just hope and pray that there will be a cure sooner rather than later. I shall start including every one in my prays instead of just myself.
