Frank's knee surgery

Post by Admin on 12/10/2010, 10:39 am

I gave Frank a call today to check in on him. He sounded like he was doing well considering. I know he's dealing with a good bit of pain after seeing my Mother in laws knee surgery a few weeks ago. I'm guessing with the double knee deal he'll be in rehab for a few extra weeks getting back in the stride of things.

Wow, I was looking at my mother in laws knee today and you can barely see the scar. If Franks goes as well as her's, he should be jogging in a couple of months.

NO!! Frank just called me, he said he is doing well, he is out of the hospital and is in rehab till Tuesday, then he comes home and will continue rehab from there. He has been walking around using a walker, they work him for a few hours in the morning, then has 1.5 hours for lunch, then they work him some more. He hasn't been able to get online to post any updates, but he will after Tuesday when he get home.

Phillip, he does know you called him.....

He did say, double knee surgery, but NO double the medicine. Laughing

Tell your DW just do what the Drs. want and Follow What the Rehab techs want her to do. Doing Rehab on her own between the sections with the Techs helps a lot. I wish her the Best.

Frank,
Glad to hear things are going well. You have a very positive attitude. The doc says I'll probably be getting a new knee or maybe both within 2-5 years.

UPDATE:
I am improving every day. I was able to get on the Seat of the Stationary
bike and petal it with very limited pain. That is the first time that I had
been able to sit on the seat of the bike. I had been able to petal the
stationary bike by sitting in a chair behind the bike.
Today I did 8 minutes
sitting in a chair behind the bike . Then I did 8 minutes sitting on the
bike seat.
As of Jan 8, 2010 it has been one month since I had both Knees replaced.

Today I went back to the Doctor he said that I am ahead of recovery. I do
not have to go back to Outpat. Rehab. I just have to keep up with rehab exisizes at
home. He also wants me to try 30min 2X aday on the stationary bike. He said
that it would be better on the stationary bike than walking. He told me not
to ride the regular bike for another 6 weeks. I go back to the Doctor in 2
months.. I NOW CAN GO BACK TO DRIVING THE AUTO & THE PICKUP.
