Chat Box

Post by mattebury on 5/15/2008, 3:16 pm

That chat box at the top of the forum is too intrusive. Can you move it / get rid of it from the home page? I tried to resize it, but it defaults back each time I go to the home page.

I can put it back at the bottom, It just seemed like it would get more use if it was at the top and you could see who was in the chat box without scrolling down to the bottom

When it's at the bottom, I forget to look at it. With it at the top, I always look at it. There must be some sort of compromise. When we first got our chat room, I thought something was wrong when all I could see was the chat box. Then I scrolled down and found he topics.

Maybe the box could be smaller. If a member joins in, then maybe the box on that person's screen could enlarge.

I lurk on a gambling board. They have a chat room, but it has to be activated by the individual. They have scheduled chats there, I think.

We have that option on here also. All you have to do is click,
Join Chat and the box opens up.,,,

We'll try it that way...

Just checked it out, I think it works best with the required click. If someone is online and they want to chat with someone else online they can PM to get them to join. Everyone who is interested in chat needs to enable the PM popup function in their profile.

Thanks goodjob
