The TN thing was the world Trials , so you had guys from all over the world there competing. Thats the best of the best so they lay out some of the most extreme stuff you've ever seen.

Cool Vids! If its offroad with an engine.... I like it!

I have an old CJ7 I built to play with. She's locked front and rear. 6 inches of lift, 35" tires, 4:10 gears, 4:1 transfer case and a 6.32:1 granny gear T18 tranny.

Its still has the original 258 straight six in it but I have a fresh AMC 360 waiting in the garage on a stand. I just can't make myself pull the old 258 out. Its only has 29K original miles and will run on its side or climbing a nearly vertical rock.

Just a little stocker used as a "towed" behind a Motor Home when I brought her home.

Thanks guys. Thats the one toy my wife will not let me sell/trade. Laughing

I've always loved CJ's. I actually took my drivers test in an old CJ5 a few decades back. My first three vehicles were CJ's with 304 V8 engines. Just a kid working for peanuts spending everything I made on Jeeps.

hunter - The Jeep actually came from NC.

TC - Thats one thing that worries me about the added horsepower and torque of the 360. I'll probably start breaking axles. I'm geared really low with the tranny and transfer case before I even get to the axles.

Phillip - Its too far from stock to worry about now. I do keep it out of the mud though. I built it so we can crawl around and not beat it up. I've also kept every stock part so I can put it back if wanted. It took us 2 years to find one with the original steel tub in excellent condition. My wife just happen to be traveling on business and calls me. It was in my driveway 3 days later.

Off roading is an expensive sport for those who choose to do it right, so what's an axle among friends? Besides, think of the fun you'd have and the stories you could tell about the time you tore off that back axle while gunning up a steep, nearly vertical incline. WHOOOOEE!!

Replacing a broken axle...$500.00 Knowing your grandkids think you're cool...PRICELESS!! headbanger

Anyone else think that the first video may not be real? If it is that kid had a death wish (no helmet in that little tin can). I don't know, but the acceleration he gets once he starts up the hill just seems a little much for that tiny vehicle. What do you think?

Yea, the car is 100 percent fake,

But I love this one on the wall of death. I like the use of his helmet at the end.

Safety first. After all, more people get injured from falls than riding on the wall of death. lol!

I thought that the Lada Riva 4x4 came with a 1600cc engine and weighed well over a ton.

Too bad we don't live closer together MountainMan.... I run up on this '79 CJ5 a while back. The shackles and homemade bumper have already been replaced with a 4" spring lift and a custom winch bumper along with new seats .I have LOTS of mods I wanna do. Its in very good shape for its age. NO rust like most have. Just a few dings. My wife calls it my Daisy Duke jeep from Dukes of Hazzard LOL

Fine lookin' CJ5 Bama! Looks in great shape.

I'm assuming a sweet sounding 304 under the hood? 3 speed T150 tranny? I think AMC V8's have a tone all their own. They have such a deep rumble to them unlike any Ford, GM or Dodge. I can hear one before ever seeing it and know its an AMC.

I had a '79 CJ5 that burned countless Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds ect... from red light to red light. What they all thought was a little 304 was really a 401 from a Javelin or AMX. Talk about horsepower to weight ratio!

Earl - You are way too young to be giving up on fun like that. We old dirt bikers have a saying - You don't quit riding because you get old; You get old because you quit riding! Twisted Evil

Yep Mountain Man you guessed it . 304 and T150. Fenderwell headers with glasspacks sure sound sweet on those things!! Its not as good shape as that CJ7 of yours but its work in progress. Got a custom aluminum dash in the works and some new wheels and etc.. etc.. You know how the toys are... Laughing
