Map of States

Post by BobnPi on 11/10/2010, 6:58 am

I was just wondering if the people using these are coloring in Sates they have actually camped in, or just driven through? Some of them are nearly complete and that is impressive.

Cann't answer for other Members but my Map is only Colored if we have spent the night Camping in the State. Having spent 43 plus years (no regrets) with the United States Air Force Active Duty and as a Civilian Employee allowed us to see and camp most of the state and Canada. The only problem with all this travel is you have to get OLDER . Jim rap

We go by spending the night in a state. DW would prefer it be stay a few days. But we did agree, at least, spend 1 night.

Its up to you.....

I only color in the states after I have camp. I have not stayed in MI yet so it should be white.

Thanks all. I think I'll wait until I can color at least 2 states before adding the map.

Tom,

Camping is a lifelong activity. So I say keep what you have. My map reflects all the camping my wife and I have done; some of it was even in a tent!

We've camped in each of the states that we've colored in on our map.

In the early days it was mostly tent camping in NJ and the mid-Atlantic states in a tent with our family. One memorable 3-week trip took us west to CO in an overpacked Escort station wagon.

Later we purchased our first 5'er (an 18.5' Sunline, single axle, gooseneck 5'er) that let us range through most of the New England states.

We took our first long trip west in 2005 with a 2000 28' Trail Harbor 5'er.

And now we have the Cat and are planning to add the Northern Plains and Northwestern states next summer.

We count every state we've camped in since beginning with a tent back in the early 70's.

We color in after we camp or drive across and feal like we have seen a majority of the state. Also, we transferred the map to the new camper.
