Mark,
There are two Franklins in NC. One is in the central piedmont near Salisbury, NC and the other is located in the western mountains of NC in Macon County which is out near Cherokee.
The one in the west is loaded with CGs while the one in the east has just a few.

Mike,
Thanks. We are staying in Franklin NW of Highlands and South of Bryson City. It's located in the Great Smoky Mtn Park. There are several RV Parks around....many which are closed for the season.....We are trying to find good one.

Admin,
I have been to sugarmill...it's a nice campground. We want to make it further North. We are going to the Biltmore House later in the week.

I was thinking about buying that house but the bank just wouldn't get right on rates.

Re: Franklin North Carolina campgrounds.
Mark,
On my Campground Navigator software from Trailer Life I found 4 parks:
1. Rose Creek CG in Franklin (open all year) medium rating
2. Great Outdoors RV Resort in Franklin (open all year) high rating
3. Country Woods CG in Franklin (open till 11/30) medium rating
4. Franklin RV Park (open till 12/01) medium rating
I've never camped at any of them so I guess you takes your pick and takes your chances. My money would be on Great Outdoors RV Resort. I've found TL's rating systemt to be accurate. Also reviewers at www.rvparkreviews.com gave it some good write-ups.
Hope this helps you out.

Isn't Franklin right in the heart of gem country? If I'm not mistaken, there are several pay-to-dig sites in the area. It might be fun, and it might end up paying for your whole trip, with a little luck.

If I could make money while on vacation, I'd quit my job tomorrow without notice and become a full-timer!!!
