Mt Man, I may have to hang up my racing boots.

Mt Man, I may have to hang up my racing boots.
I ran an Iron man event last saturday, 4hr moto. I was supposed to run as a team but the guy couldn't make the race. So I signed up for Iron man once again.
There was only 7 of us that signed up for iron man so I figured even if I ride it slow i'd still get 3rd at least. Most people drop out after the 3rd lap.
I get on the line, look over and this pretty precious little girl was on a Honda cr85. I'm thinking gosh she's on the wrong row, maybe she's supposed to be back on the family row a few rows back. The green flag drops, we hit the woods and the little girls right in front of me. I'm like gee I'm gonna have to holler and let her know I'm coming by. When I hollered she hit the gas and left me like she may have should of been on the AA row up front.
I couldn't believe what i was seeing and tried to keep up with her. She disappeared like a ninja. So I was thinking, I'd better come out of grand pa cruiser mode and get on with it. I was 3rd when we hit the woods on the first lap. I thought for sure my big gas tank would get me second, But some how she squeeked in one more lap than I did. If ever I was proud to get beat by a girl , man this little girl could tote the mail like nobodys business. I talked with her and her crew after the race and find out that was the 3rd race she had ever ran. I'm thinking I might have to sponser this girl to run some enduro's. I think she could make some of those guys loose a few tears in their beers. She ran the whole 4hr's wide open. I couldn't catch her for nothing.
I did let her know I'd be looking for a rematch though.....

Can't say I've ever lost a race to a girl but its only because I haven't raced the right girl yet!
Maybe next time you could hide in the woods and ram a stick in her spokes or something.
After two surgeries on the same shoulder last year, my racing days are probably over. I still love to ride but I'm very limited compared to pre-surgery.

No , I wouldn't hurt the little darl'n. I was right impressed with her riding. I jumped into the race just for goofs and to cruise and have fun. But it was such a smooth flowing course I couldn't help but get a little gas happy and started chasing the girl and another guy in front of her. Thats when I saw how good she was slicing through the trees. I could tell somebody had been giving her some skills. She never hit a rut, crossed the one's she did have to encounter, diced through the tight trees like nobodys business. Then she was gone. I had to go back to cruiser mode to last the whole 4hrs. I stayed with her I guess about four miles / half a lap. I clicked off about 50 miles , she would have made about 58 miles running a extra lap. I'll be keeping my eye on her to see if she runs some of the series events with setra.
