Just back
Just had 5 great days away in the Cat. It turned out a good time to try out the modifications that I have made before the winter sets in. the Plexiglas was a great success cutting down on the problem of condensation on the windows that where treated to the mod. The electric heating worked a treat not having to use the gas furnace at all, despite the temperature dropping to -2 deg C. (about 28 F) over night on 2 occasions. One electric heater (1600 watt @240 volt AC) kept the temperature at a nice level over night 12 deg C. Ice on the outside of the Cat 2 nights in a row. We only used one heater over night, because we did not want to have a disturbed nights sleep due to over heating. The heaters where able to maintain a temperature of + 20 deg C when needed during the evening. The heating I now have installed in my Cat is as follows 1 convector @ 1600 watts in the main living area in front of the vent for the Furnace, 1 convector @ 800 watts in the bedroom next to the hand basin. then there is the flame effect fire in the main living area, which is not all that effective. Hand brake conversion worked as expected, Held Cat quite well when I tried to pull forward with hand brake on. I could feel brakes dragging.
