a week away!

Post by jakomom53 on 10/18/2010, 4:27 am

My hubby and I are going to Rend Lake for the last week in October. We are staying at North Marcum campground, and can't wait to use the new bike path. Sure hope there are still some colorful trees for viewing.

Just thought I'd share... Laughing

Rich and Mary Ann,
Rend Lake is great. When we lived in Northern Illinois, we used to camp at Wayne Fitzgerald SP, and a Corps of Engineers park near WFSF. That was way back in the late 70s and early 80s. Is North Marcum new, or a place we failed to visit in those days?

Could you post a couple photos and a review in Campground Reviews? We'd appreciate it.

Scruffy and Tater,

North Marcum and Gun Creek have been unavailable this season. They supposedly re-did the sites and added quite a few with full hook-ups! We are staying at North Sandusky... my mistake...
Wayne fitzgerald is one of our favorites but it is more expensive then the COE campgrounds, and they need to work on their facilities... just no state money :(
The wildlife is so abundant in that area. I will take some pics and post them with some help once we get back!!
