Sad Day

Post by Flyer on 10/16/2010, 3:00 pm

Yup, that time of year for us here in NW Montana, had to get the 'Cat home and emptied today. All the goodies are out, water system drained and flushed with anti-freeze, parked in its spot on the driveway not to move until next spring.

AwwMan

We had a good year camping though, lots of nights out and fun doing the 4 wheelin' and having fun with our good friends.

Oh well, looking forward to next years camping allready! snoopy

We just put ours away after last weeks final trip. It's still warm enough here in NM, but kids have school and holidays usually don't yield camping due to other family functions.

It's always sad, makes me want to camp, but also is a nice break so that I have something to look forward to next year.

Finished winterizing ours today as well, low temps getting close to freezing, so I couldn't wait much longer. Was on a mission and did some anti-mousizing too.

And they all settled down for a long winter's nap.

My Cat's down for the winter too. Did an overnight at an all season CG in Bellingham, MA. Cleaned, vacuumed and spruced up the inside. Outside was done just before we left NC. We'll do the anti-freeze tomorrow.

Nighty, night kitty! lol!

This is the best time of the year to travel in the South. Nice and warm in day and cool at night to sleep. Will do some serious traveling now until the middle of May.

We envy all you people south. i winterized our Cat last weekend and will do my Dad's next weekend. Just seems like the year ended so soon. Can't wait to semi retire some day. We can't hardly start here till late April. Oh well, more time to post and learn more here. We have 50+ days already figured for next year. About the same as our 2010 season ended up.

We try to camp all year long, weather permitting! We just re-winterize after each use!

I wish we were retired and could go all the time... love it!

We're in the same boat er, trailer. We only get 4-5 mos of use from the Cat a year because of our lousy weather and state CG reservation policy. During the winter the Cat's under a cover which at least seems to stop the aging process (the trailers, not mine).

Post by BobnPi on 10/26/2010, 2:42 am

This is the beginning of my serious camping time. I don't expect to have to worry about freezing until some time in December. Probably won't miss more than a few weeks total due to the cold. I hate camping when it's 100°+ during the day and in the high 80's and above at night. July - August are my least favorite times to camp. That's ok since I"m going to hit the lottery this weekend and go full time north in the summer and south in the winter. lol!

We just brought our Cat home from the shop. Had a few details to take care of (and wanted it ready in case we decide to go again). Have drained water lines and will blow air through them tomorrow and put antifreeze in the traps. That should hold us in case we don't get out again until spring. I know the Cat will be used for sleeping quarters for grandchildren at Christmas! An electric heater and all is well.
