No signal after antenna replacment
We just replaced the original Winegard batwing Sensar antenna with the updated version of the same model: Sensar III.
Used the same base already attached to roof since it wasn't damaged; only replaced mast and antenna head, even re-installed old wingman. Coax cable is securely fastened to head and base. Input on HDTV is on "air" (OTA), and I did an auto scan with the antenna extended and the boost on. NOTHING!!! No signals whatsoever. The inside coax connection is correct. Anybody got ideas what I could/should be doing to fix this?
I will ad this...I discovered that the boost was "on" while the installation took place. Instructions said to have it "off" while installing. Don't know if I might have shorted something out in the new head or not.

I guess it's possible that you fried the booster. I'd pull boost out of the wall and expose the coax. Pull the coax from the antenna and jumper it directly to the TV and see if it will pull any signal (even without the booster). Then you'll know for sure if you grounded out the booster circuits.

The green light still comes on, so I'm not sure that I actually fried the power supply. I'm more concerned with frying the amplifier in the head of the antenna. I suppose it couldn't hurt to expose the cable connections on the back and check things over though.

I could also be a dud unit, so you could always take it back and ask for a replacement,
Especially if you put your best face on

I've discovered a bad A/B switch and a bad length of coax so far.

Well, that was the problem...a bad A/B switch and a bad coax from the back of the TV to the switch. Took me the better part of a day doing a process of elimination to find it. It's odd too, cuz everything was working just fine before I ruined the antenna.
Anyway, replaced the old switch with a new one. Same for the coax. The signal strength is better than ever.
