Steamboat Rock State Park, WA
Had a great late season trip here this past weekend (10/1-10/3). Nice country, pretty scenery good beach for the kids and some good hiking. Glad we had the chance to check it out!

Dragyng,
Do you have any more photos of the campsites and general area at Steamboat Rock that you could pass on? We were considering trying that spot out next year.

Re: Steamboat Rock State Park, WA
All the pictures I have are of family members in the frames. Not that I'm overly protective, I try not to put too many identifying photos for "public" view. I will try to get a few more pics of the park up there.
Google Earth has quite a few of member submitted photos of the area. We stuck pretty close to camp (other than climbing that hill you see behind the Cat) and didn't explore too much. Wish we could have gotten to Grand Coulee Dam, but have to save something for next year. I guess they do a laser show on the face of the dam every night during the summer.
Let me know if you have anything specific you want to know about the area, I'm located 2hrs south of there in Richland and will get you anything you need! Where you coming from?

We would be coming from Vancouver B.C. Were the campsites private to each or more open?

Maxum, hopefully these pictures give you a better idea of the area. Campground was nice and well maintained. Paved pads with full sewer/water hookups. We were in site 93 on the second loop (north loop). If you look to the far right of the picture above you can just barely see the tip of the rig that was next to me (kind of blends in with the boat). Then there is one more space next to him and the boat would be 3 spots from me. Plenty of room between campers to spread out and not bother (or be bothered by) anyone.

The below picture is from the top of Steamboat Rock. You can see the north loop (where we stayed) over the top of my daughters head.

The next picture is from my camper facing south (I was standing approx in the same spot I took the first picture I posted (of the cat and the mountain) just facing the opposit way). The site with the tent trailer and the screen house is site 89 in the loop that was behind us.

Hope this gave you a little better perspective on the campground! All in all it was pretty nice, but I've heard it gets pretty busy in the summer!! Good luck!

Yes, that was exactly what I was looking for perspective wise. Thank you very much for taking the time. I think we will try and visit this area next year for sure.
