Skip'n and Poppin Tractor festival

Post by Admin on 10/2/2010, 4:42 pm

I go to a tractor festival every year in a small town just down the road from me. Its a town where you know pretty much everyone there. But they have a cool little tractor festival every year and its pretty neat.

Heres some video ,,,, Me and my little girl usually just jump on the first wagon we see with a empty spot and ride in the parade. My dad stopped taking his old massey so we have to bum a ride now days. But anyone one that wants a ride can hop on. Its just a super friendly little event. Have all kinds of skills events for the tractors. The gate event is where you ride your tractor up to a gate, jump off open it , get back on the tractor ride through jump off and close the gate. Its amazing to see what some of these guys can do with a old farm tractor.

Love those old John Deere's. My Dad had a B, G, 50 and 730 Diesel while I grew up. I still miss riding tractor doing field work, etc. The last time I operated on was in 1968. AwwMan

I learned how to drive with a hand clutch JD. I was around 10yrs old I think. It was fun but terrifing to drive. I was always the hay raker, Most of the time I drove my uncles FarmAll. Had to hand crank it in the front, almost ran over myself with it , forgot to take it out of gear, thank God it didn't fire up on the first turn.

That's pretty neat. We have an old Ford Jubilee at our farm that we use. I'd love to restore it and make it look new again. It blows me away how well built these old tractors are. I don't know how old this tractor is, but it runs great and serves us very well.

1953: Ford Jubilee Tractor

My Dad's farm also had a Ford 8N which was a predecessor to the Jubilee.
