CATV Fuzzy
A few weeks ago the picture on both TVs in our 2005 29RLBS got fuzzy. I've made sure the amplifyer switch above the TV in the bedroom is NOT depressed since I am using the campground cable. As a troublshooting step I removed the catv jumper from the plate next to the TV in the living room and connected the cable from the campground to the bottom connector and the signal for both TV's cleaned up. So the problem seems to be in the cable run going from the outside connector to the jumper plate inside. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

Re: CATV Fuzzy
You could try a couple of things.
There is a female connector behind the jumper plate and behind the main cable connection that attaches to the double males on the wall plates one of these could be loose.
It could also be that one of the double male connectors is bad you could try replacing one at a time to see if it solves the problem.
You may need to replace the cable ends one of these may not be installed correctly causing lack of signal.
And finally you may have a bad section of cable. This would be my last thing to check as the cable is pretty tough but it may have rubbed a sharp corner or may have a nail or screw in it from construction.
Good luck hope this helps.

Re: CATV Fuzzy
We checked the connections behind the wallplate and they are tight. Replacing the cable ends and connectors one at a time sounds like a good plan.
Thanks!

Re: CATV Fuzzy
check the hard copper wire in the center of the cable. mine corroded, separated and of course no picture.

On our 29 RLBS we had a wire staple drove into one of the tv cables. That was located in the wall behind the wall connections. I removed the wall panel located on step side going up to the bed room. The splitter was also located in area was wired backward.
This picture shows the correct way the TV Cables are wired.

On our WC I found the guy that installed the cable used strippers to cut all the way through the shield, exposing only the center conductor, which he jammed into the connectors. So there was no shield connection at all. We had very poor picture quality until I reworked all the connections.

We also had to go through and tighten the connections in our Cat. Most of them were loose.
I've heard of people sliding shrink wrap tubing over their connections and then taking a blow dryer to them so they're good and snug; makes a good seal around the connections, and helps prevent them from vibrating loose again. If you have everything open to tighten it all up, you might consider this. It's a cheap fix that'll last. If I have cause to get to all my connectors again, I'm going to do this myself.
