mrwoodmin,

Looks like a good idea.

I'd like to see one more photo. A view from a slight distance (maybe 15 to 20 feet) of the awning and tie downs in actual use.

Thanks.

Tater

Tater thanks for changing my post to show pics. I will also add a photo with them in use. And to F150K the holes in the 1 1/2" pipe are 1" apart, as long as all the holes ie: the 1 thru the 2" pipe and the multiple holes thru the 1 1/2" pipe are drilled exact dead center of pipes they will line up , but must be drilled dead center of pipe. Thats why I drilled 3/8 holes and used a 1/4" pin to allow for a little error. Thanks

Tater here are some additional pics, I could only do 1 side as my shed is in the way right now for both sides. Hope this helps.

mrwoodmin:
You might need to drill a hole close to the bottom to drain the rain water.

I really like this mod. I have tossed around how to keep the wind from catching our awning. We have the exact same camper and awning, so your ideas would work for us.

Thanks,

Made these this weekend. Going to be a great add on. Biggest problem was finding the saddle. 3 stops and found them at lowes. Difference was a 4" by 3" saddle. That I had to use a 3" to 1 1/2" reducer. All in all, easy enough to make

Re: Power Awning Tie Down System

Curious. With the awning add on has anyone found a better solution for adding to tt to stop the door from running into the awning bar. Took it out 1st weekend and we used the plastic door holder and the wind caught it and broke it. Is there a metal replacement for this part? Thanks
