But look, the spare tire is still mounted on the bumper. Must be Wildcat has started attaching the bumper better.

Now he has a flat bed trailer.
What a moron. Really. Anyone with half a brain could see it was low. Not to mention the 8' clearance sign.

Just for safe keeping, here's the large image.

I sent a copy to Beverly at the West Coast factory asking if this was covered under warranty.

Cave Rock on the east shore of Lake Tahoe is a fun one here locally.

I drive down the middle of the two lanes. I don't want to see where they measure the 13'-0" or the 12'-4". I like the idea of 18'-6".

That's the westbound tunnel. Two lanes each way. The eastbound tunnel is 21' at the center.

Not only does this guy have the cost of the accident, the tow, the clean-up, etc., but I bet he get's a hefty bill from the railroad company when they have to send out a crew to check the alignment of the RR overpass. If there is work to be done to realign, it's gonna cost him plenty.

I am sure it is a new Cat. That is the new decal pattern. Kind of sad. Reckon it was a maiden voyage?

He was most likely going under that bridge just as he would any other day of the week, not even thinking twice about being hooked up. Dollars to donuts he doesn't make that same mistake twice.
Looking at the photo, I'm surprised he's not wearing a cervical collar or something similar. Going from street speed to a dead stop in zero seconds flat has to throw something out of alignment!!
Hope he was insured for replacement costs VS pro-rate.

Re: Tall WildCat + low bridge =
We ended up on the Saw Mill River Parkway this summer towing (long story ....) - a fellow camper told us he does it all the time .... last time I'll listen to someone concerning heights of overpasses.
We saw the first overpass with a 13' clearance - I knew our height was 12'8" but I was still cringing.
After that, we were stopped by a good samaritan Emergency Rescue truck who told us about the 8' clearance bridge ahead .... there were no signs or warnings at the entrance of the parkway or anywhere prior to the bridge except for for the 13' clearance (it did say Autos Only, no trucks) but when I inquired about that, I was told buses were allowed but no commercial vehicles.
Good thing someone above was looking out for us ... I would not attempt to go under an 8' overpass, but trying to turn around at that point would have been a challenge. We were stopped at a red light on the parkway and there was a nice side street we took to get back to the Tapenzee bridge. It did take several hours of traffic to make it through New York ..... I now refuse to go anywhere near I95 with a camper up the east coast (MD to Connecticut.)

Some people have no clue what their doing or what's around them. You didn't need a low clearance sign with that one, you can see it's way too low. Also how many people do you think are riding around and have no idea how high their RV is? I bet a lot! I know my height and I always watch out for low tree limbs and bridges and such.
I was driving in Altoona, PA this summer and saw a warning sign of a 11' clearance and I quickly hit a side street and bypassed it.

Re: Tall WildCat + low bridge =
Something I just thought of.. The specs for my TT give the height at the top of the AC, but if I were to hit something solid at speed with the radio ant.(which is taller than the AC), it would probably tear it off the roof since it's just attached with wood screws. So some of you may be taller than you think!

The antenna is extremely flexible. I've wholloped mine many times going under low branches without incident. Not sure it's as much an issue as it appears to be.
