Cold Air coming through slide outs.

Cold Air coming through slide outs.
We went out in our Wildcat in August and discovered cold air drafts. Discovered it was coming from the bottom of our living room and bedroom slides. Anyone have any ideas on how we can "shut off" these cold drafts? There is a bit of gap between the seal and the unit in each corner where you can see daylight.

Might be able to adjust the slide downward a bit to take up the void. Take a look at the top of the slide where it meets the rubber gasket to see if it can afford to come down at all.

to the forum In our bedroom slide you can put your hand through to the inside just below the headboard. She always complaining of feeling cold.
And the winter is not here yet.

Sean could take a picture of where your are talking about. Do you have to move the rubber to do this, if not something doesn't seem right.

Hi Rich5117, If the bedroom slide is out bottom right hand corner, I can move the rubber seal and put my hand into the bedroom. Her in doors found this when we were away and had a wet floor on this side of the slide. I am looking to modify this when it stops raining.

In August, I would have welcomed some cold air drafts coming in. Where were you camping? It was over 100°F (about 38° C) with humidity about 98% where I was. I think I'm going to skip July and August camping next year, or maybe go where "otherstuff" was this year.

Sounds good to me. I will let my husband know. Do you know how to go about moving it down if we can/need to? Thanks. Otherstuff (Yolanda)

Hello, Frank. Thanks for the colorful "welcome." We have a 2009 Wildcat 29' rkbs that we just love. This is the 3rd season with it. We've had a few problems (water tank slipped out, closet hanger fell down) but nothing that hasn't yet been unsolvable.
The season is always too too short and my husband still having to work puts a dent in going out as often as we would like, but we do our best!

Scott&Graces suggestion sounds helpful. We will see. My husband is VERY good at "fixing" things when he has a bit of information to work with. Thanks for the welcome! Hope you get your problem solved. Otherstuff

Well, so much for my accuracy. I should have said February and it was in Roswell, NM on business, no less. Further, that trip the water line hose broke and nary a story in town had a replacement part! We had to just "fill" the fresh water tank and hope nothing froze. We were together, though, so we had fun despite all that went a little wrong.

Hi Otherstuff (Yolanda) and
to the forum.
Check the distance from top to bottom on the sides of the slides when they are extended. If there is a gap at the top or the bottom then your slide needs to be adiusted. Its not hard to do, here is a link to Lippert:

Sean, there should be 2 sets of rubber under(and around) the entire slide, the WIPER BLADE that you see from the outside and then a round rubber strip that is suppose to stop all the air from coming into the camper. I've noticed on mine that the L bracket that holds the side to the bottom of the slide, the L with the screws and the vinyl insert, extends the entire length of the slide. This allows a gap in the corners cause the round rubber cant seal. I cut my L bracket off with a dremel tool which allowed the round rubber to seal correctly.
As far as your leak, cut the white vinyl back a few inches from under the slide, this will probably stop the leak in the corner.

RE: Link to Lippert
Appreciate the info. I've downloaded the manual and will see about making the needed adjustment. I think this may do the trick, as I do not remember seeing these gaps when the unit was new. Thanks again. Otherstuff
