D and D RV Park, Kilgore TX.
Well, we waited a bit long to make a plan for Labor Day, but found this little place that could "fit us in". Well, fitting in was sure no problem. This is a different kind of park to be sure. It has 3 fishing ponds, but only two are "active" at the moment...the third is too low. One is a pay as you keep catfish pond. The other is a catch and release only bass pond. Mr. Dean is a great guy and loves to help the folks out fishing. My nieces were catching 3 and 4 pound catfish on Batman and Barbie poles! What a blast. The actual campground is not stellar, but adequate. It looks like the bathroom/laundry room is fairly new and a work in progress. Much like ther rest of the park. It has a lot of promise, but needs some work. On the good side, if you want to "get away from it all", it is really peaceful and quiet. For all the permanent residents, it is actually quite a nice place nestled among the pine trees of East Texas.
Oh, we also met up with Bob and Pi. They seem to be very much a great couple. I really wish we would have had time to sit and chat with them a while. But the kids were hungry. Since they are right up the road, I feel we will meet up with them again someday. Great to meet you guys.

Pi and I discussed meeting you and your extended family. You are a very brave man to have all those children with you at once. You seem so calm and relaxed. I'd have been
. All joking aside, it was great to meet such nice people. Did you catch any more catfish that evening?
