Installing Macerator
I have just installed my macerator pump onto the chassis rail of my Wildcat. This will stop me having to connect up when I need to use it.I have installed the pump into an old cctv camera housing to keep most of the road dirt off and give it some protection.
In the fitted position it sits about 2 inches lower than the step and about the same amount lower than the waste outlet. I used a 3 inch Valterra valve with a 1 ½ inch branch, which I have used as the feed to the pump. I have also made a support for the new valve to take the weight, so not to strain the original outlet. At the moment I have used heavy duty sewer hose to connect pump to valve with a slight twist in the pipe to keep it more ridged. I used flexible hose so that there is still a little bit of flex between the two fixed parts of the installation. This way I hope that the original waste pipe will not crack. At a later date I will change the sewer hose for some Rinoflex which is a better quality hose. I have installed the switch inside a locker near the Furnace
