hydraulic landing gear problem
First topic message reminder :
Hi all, my landing gear will go down but not up. Pump seems to work fine going down, but when I go to raise the gear nothing, no pump noise or anything. Any ideas?

Re: hydraulic landing gear problem
You may need to repost the last post that had the new switch with the different wires so it will show up on this page.

Re: hydraulic landing gear problem
With the new switch the supplier should have gave you some indication of how to rewire from the 6 wire to 4 wire switch.
I also think you might have to make a connection to the valves.

Re: hydraulic landing gear problem
Sean, I am going to stop on the way home at the dealership and ask that very question. In looking at the difference between the old switch with six connections and the new one with four, I think the new one has only one ground and one hot where the old was split for two ground and two hot. Here are the pix again.

Re: hydraulic landing gear problem
I just stopped by and the parts department is closed on Monday. I spoke with the service manager who suggested that I talk with the parts guy because he may have ordered the wrong switch. They only sell 'cats with electric landing gear, so that may be a switch made for electric . I will let you know
Does anyone have a number at Forest River where I can order parts directly from them? I have a feeling that may be the way to go.

Re: hydraulic landing gear problem
Landing gear switches are different between electric and hyd landing gear. You can also get the switch from Lippert's online store, item 045-138415.

Thanks Earl, I just ordered it from Lippert. I should have gone there originally, but I thought the Wildcat dealer would be the best source. I hope I can return the one they ordered for me.
As always, you guys are the best.

Re: hydraulic landing gear problem
My dealer ordered HYD LGs for my trailer. When we got it back in 2006 we though this would be great. Everybody in the know including the factory was involved in trying to fix them. They were a accident waiting to happen. A safety terror waiting to put someone in the hospital. Had the factory rip them out and they installed electric ones with 2 switches. Happiest day in our lives when we got the trailer back without the killer HYD LGs.
