counter tops
When we ordered our wildcat we ordered it with formica countertops and it was suposed to have a hole in it for the outside trash compartment (28rkbs), well it didn't. Talked to the dealer and they talked to FR and they said the corian counter tops come to them with the hole already in them and they don't cut any holes in any of the counter tops. The dealer said if you want a hole in it we will get a cabnet shop or somthing like that to cut a hole in it no charge. My question is does anybody out there have this hole in there formica tops and do you think I should have it done or not??

Re: counter tops
The only way a cabinet shop could do it is if they can cut the square out perfect and be able to use what they cut out for the lid. It would be a one shot deal. If they mess up the factory would have to cut you one to match the top. The tops not that big , so if worse came to worse you could pick out something in the shop to replace it.
I would think a good reputable shop could do it though.
Its worth it if you can get it done. I've been meaning to add a small rod to mine to hold it up when your cooking doing stuff that you need it open for awhile. So I'd let them get creative with it while their at it.
I would miss mine if I had to close it off.

I pulled your profile up and no email. I pulled mine up and no email is listed either. PM me with your email and I'll email those two pics and I'll take some better ones of the bottom and the lid. They probably stopped cutting the hole out to save money or they over looked it and aren't stepping up. What good is a outside trash access when you can't use it cause there's no access from the inside!

Mine is like Earl's, but in a 30LSBS. Its a great idea, I also have a slightly smaller bin in there on a shelf, under the shelf we keep spare dog blankets.

We did the same shelving in the cabinet, and the top looks the same.

Re: counter tops
I looked at mine, I'm don't think the cut out is used as the lid. This would be easier as a cabinet shop could do the cut and the supports, and all you would have to do is get the lid.

My looks like Mopar-Earl and use it alot when cooking. I have the outside door like others. This is the first camper I had that had the trash bin made in it.

Our 2011 28RKSB came with the cutout, I think FR messed up and should replace your counter top with the correct one.

Re: counter tops
We have a 2010 31TS with corian tops. The access to the trash receptacle has a lid...and the lid has a wiggly slit in ti that you can insert smaller pieces of trash. It works great. I'd try to get the dealer/factory to make it right.
