The last Carlisle
Well my last Carlisle gave out. I've been keeping it in the back of my truck as the spare and I decided to check its air pressure before we leave for a trip on Sat. It has lots of tread left and it was covered to protect it from the sun but that didn't keep it from developing a bulge in the tread just sitting back there under my canopy!
Of the four that came with the Cat, two exploded and two developed bulges - 100% failure rate.

Re: The last Carlisle
My local Costco carries trailer tires now. They are the Greenball Towmasters. I have them on my Cat now from the factory. They seem to hold up. I have never had a failure and they still look good. It's been 5 seasons now and over 12k miles.
The ST22575R15D was $99, the ST23580R16D was around $140.

I just got the ST225 75R 15 LRE from Costco 2 weeks ago for $147 each. They look good, but right on the side it says MADE IN CHINA
So, we'll see, Maxtor has them on his CAT and likes them also....

I had 2 of the 4 Greenball Towmaster fail within one year and 5000 miles. Now have Carlisles. Haven't had them long enough to tell. Seems as if everybody has a different story. Makes me want to ask, "WHY DOESN'T SOMEBODY MAKE A DECENT TRAILER TIRE?"

Re: The last Carlisle
I'm going to try Maxxis but our tire shop couldn't get them fast enough for our upcomeing week long trip so they agreed to sell me a cheapo new spare and give me full credit for it if I don't use it.
I raelly didn't want to buy new tires until next spring ~ there no sense in speninding a bunck of the warranty period in storage over the winter but I guess I have no choice if I want them to all be of the same age.
