Landing gear
I have a 2011 28rkbs Does anybody know what the amp draw should be when extinding your landing gear? They put a 30 amp mine fues behind a 40 amp circut breaker and I blow the fues about every other time I use it. I put a 40 amp fuse in it like the dealer said too and I checked it and it was drawing about 35 amps. That seems like a lot and why would they only put a 30 amp fuse in it?

Do you have electric or hydraulic jacks?

Re: Landing gear
I didn't think I had a fuses on my electric landing gear. I want to say I have circuit breakers. I'll check when I get home. I know there's one for the hydraulic pump and one for the charge line coming from the trucks charge line.

Re: Landing gear
Mine has a seperate in-line automotive blade type fuse straight from the battery to the motor switch. It does not go through any other breakers but straight from the battery to the switch.
I've never checked what size fuse or amp draw but I will if you need the info.

Re: Landing gear
Ok, I have three circuit breakers all in a group. The third one is the landing gear. No blade fuse at all. I'd have to remove it to get the current rating. But if it's a Venture motor, it's rated at 30A. My only guess is it may be exceed 30A if the battery voltage drops too much during operation. I have 4 batteries with a lot of current available and I've never had an issue with it tripping.
In any case, I'd switch the fuse out for an auto resetting circuit breaker. I'll pull it apart this weekend and get you the size they put in and a better photo. It was too dark to do it tonight.
I took this picture a long time ago, but you can see the first two breakers under the hydraulic pump with the huge copper connecting plate.

Re: Landing gear
Thanks I talked to the dealer and they said that was to much amp draw for that motor, so I will take it back and let them deal with it for now. When they get it fixed i'm going to rewire all the stuff down there and put in one fuse block and one ground stud, I just don't want them to say you just messed up your warenty for changing the wiring but I can't stand the way thay have it wired now. (too much extra wire and fuses all over the place)
