Big Dave's Modifications.
I don't have pics of everything that I've done yet. I'm still waiting for better weather so I can wash the Cat to get some other pics but I thought I would get a thread started anyway.
First set of pics are electrical plugs I added in the basement along with a switch that operates a plug under the door curb side of the cat. I added rope lighting under the cat and wanted a way to turn it off and on without unplugging it. I also plan on plugging in the awning lights to the same receptacle so everything works together. All of this is powered off of the short plug end that you see in one of the pics. I now have a weather cover over it to protect it. I just plug an extension cord into it then into the 20 amp receptacle at the campsite. I did all of this after realizing that some stupid engineer put the outside receptacle behind the door and when anything is plugged in to it you can't latch the door open.

THe next couple of pics are of a cover I added to the slide button to keep it from getting pushed accidentally from people who don't know what button does what. I had to sand the edges down quite a bit to get it to fit but it looks good and works very well.
I also added the same cover to the outside landing gear switch. It's kind of hard to open so most kids won't bother with it. Kind of an out of sight out of mind deal.

And last for now I added a digital thermostat. It is wired so that when you put it to fan on it is on low air and when you put it to auto it is high air. I doubt I would ever want to run just the fan so that's why I wired it this way.

Looks good Dave!!!
You're gonna love the Rite Temp thermostat. We installed the same one last year and the inside temps are more evenly regulated. We also noticed that the furnace doesn't cycle as often. And...you gotta love the touch screen!!!

Re: Big Dave's Modifications.
Good job Dave.
I particularly like the one not pictured of the cover over the landing gear switch. I have never quite understood the brilliance of putting an unprotected switch outside with easy access to everyone. I wait for the day when one of the grandkids hits the switch. I have considered putting a cutoff switch inside but I would rather just put a cover over the switch. Can you tell us what kind of cover you used or where you found it, I haven't found anything suitable around here.

Re: Big Dave's Modifications.
All of the covers that I used were bought at Lowe's in the electrical section. They will be where the electrical boxes are and they are exterior rated receptacle/switch covers. THey are actually multipurpose. The cover can hinge two ways you just have to pick which one you want to use and cut the other pieces off.
Here is a link. They also have them in white, which is what I used. They also make the thicker, pictured, and thinner models.

Re: Big Dave's Modifications.
I saw those at Lowes, the ones I saw were pretty deep and I worried about them striking in turns. I know they would hit my tailgate when hooking up or unhooking. Guess I'll have to go back and see if I can find some shallower ones. Thanks

I'd rather
I'd have to rig mine to come down when not in use. I could see myself draging 50' of rope light behind the trailer and whipping somebody on a motorcycle to death
:P
