Well, let's see if I did all this correctly...got the profile set up, added an avatar, put in signature pic of our current rig, now ready to post. But all I really need is a Wildcat
We looked at a 28RKBS at the Sacramento RV show last fall, and really liked it, but felt that it might be a little too long for some of our favorite campsites (we were upgrading from a tent trailer so were newbies re 5th wheels in parks)...so we bought a Copper Canyon instead (but with no bed slide).
Now that we have almost a year of pretty extensive usage (Nat'l Parks, State Parks, Canada, etc.) we think (no, we KNOW) we made a mistake
and should have got the Wildcat with the bedslide in the first place...we just didn't realize how much we would really need the extra BR storage.
I found a 28RKBS at a local dealer yesterday, and will take the DW down on Sunday to make sure this is what SHE really wants.
If the numbers work out right we will be trading in the Copper Canyon for a Wildcat soon...and then I can really be an official forum member

Your more than welcome even if the numbers don't work out in your favor.
But I hope the numbers do fall in your favor, You will enjoy the bed slide and the cat.

You will LOVE having a bed room slide. DW and I are very glad we moved up to a larger camper to have that feature. Good luck with the numbers!

Steve,
to the forum. I hope things work out and you are able to get the Cat with the bedroom slide. When we were shopping for ours, we were thinking "small." We found one we liked, then saw another just a little bigger that we liked better. Then we went to an RV show, we saw the same floorplan, almost the same size, but with the bedroom slide. We were sold! We knew we'd love the extra bedroom space. Congratulations on making a great decision.

Re: New member from NorCal
Well, it appears we won't be joining the Wildcat family for a while ...at least not from this dealer.
We seem to have a significant difference in what the trade-in value of our (less than) year old 5er should be. We think more than 50% depreciation in the first year is excessive...and they don't.
So now it is on to other dealers and RV shows. The good news is we aren't in a hurry.

Selling it yourself shouldn't be a problem to get pretty much what you feel like its worth. Craigslist.com is a great way to sell local.

Don't give up, the 28RKBS is a great floor plan (we love it) and is worth waiting for. We had 7 people in ours last Sunday night due to rain and it was no crowded at all. That was 7 people socializing, not sleeping (that would be WAY to many)
