Re: PULL RIGHT FIFTH WHEEL
to the forum DON R, I use a pulrite 18k hitch and it is an essential bit of kit if you have a short bed pickup. It slide automatically down the bed away from the cab when you turn so that the distance between the 5er and cab is safe from touching even on tight turns.

Re: PULL RIGHT FIFTH WHEEL
Welcome Don R to the forum. I really like the layout of the new 34FLR. I agree totally with Sean. You have to do a little maintenance as you do for any hitch. For me it has eliminated the worry during sharp turns and doing damage to my truck. I also like the way the lock totally wraps around the pin it is really secure. There is only one drawback to hook up and unhook you must be pretty much in line with the cat. I know everyone has an opinion, but I would not be without one in a short bed truck.
PS. What kind of mileage are you getting with your truck ?

Thanks for the info, we really like the layout of this cat. I am new to the fifth wheel. I really like the 08 body style, I just purchased it last week. From what I am reading, I'm hearing from 12-16. That's what I am hoping to get. Thanks

Re: PULL RIGHT FIFTH WHEEL
I've got a Reese 16K, manual slide hitch because of the short bed. In 5 years and probably 20,000+ miles with lots of boondocking I've never used it. But it is a comfort knowing I could if the need should arise.

I have a 16 K Reese slider. I have use it very little. I have to pull other 5th wheel trailers for friends and family at times.
Reese Hitches
A elec motor unit can be purchased for the slider: Part # 30079 Remote Slider Actuator, for Fifth Wheel w/Kwik-Slide #30048
The pull-right hitch system is a nice unit. But if you need to pull your trailer with another truck You have to find one that has the pull-right hitch

Re: PULL RIGHT FIFTH WHEEL
Welcome Don! I have a Curt 20K slider hitch. Of course, I have a longbed now and don't need it, but in my other truck, I had it more for peace of mind. I used it a couple of times, don't know if I actually had to, but there we are. The Curt is considerably less expensive, but is a very fine hitch. Easy to use and works just fine.
As for the 2008, mine gets around 8.5 to 10 mpg pulling the Cat, and between 16 - 17 empty. Mostly close to 16, but I have my good days. And mine is about as big as you can get...Crew Cab, long bed, diesel! No 4X4, but it does have the 3.73 gears. I love this truck...pulls my Cat beautifully.

Re: PULL RIGHT FIFTH WHEEL
Thanks everyone for the welcome and the info. The capture plate for the superglide, I was told to get the universal one. The guy told me it works fine. I have seen some post where it is hard to install, alot of drilling and I heard one person say they had to cut something.

Re: PULL RIGHT FIFTH WHEEL
Don R, before you get the universal plate go to Pullrite's website and check the quick connect capture plate. It is on in a matter of minutes and can be taken off just as fast if you need to have your rig pulled by another type of hitch. If you have the standard Trail Air Pin Box fit right on.

Re: PULL RIGHT FIFTH WHEEL
How do I find out what kingpin box I have. I just ordered the 34flr, so I am not sure. I ordered the 16k superglide and the mounting brackets. What capture plate do I need?

I think all of the new units come standard with the Trail Air Total Flex Pin Box. I would call your dealer just to double check.
