State Fairs
We are loaded and ready to roll to our State Fair tomorrow. Going to stay the weekend and enjoy all the sights and sounds.
We camped there last year for the first time and really had a great time. We arrived the first night of the fair around 7PM and was camper number 500 to register! They kept rolling in Friday night and all day Saturday. Its a HUGE, HUGE field with gravel roads running through in square sections for the RVers. Its a great set-up but 90% dry camping. (Long waiting list for the sites with hook-ups). The camp grounds are directly across the road from the main entrance to the fair. Its an easy walk but they run shuttles non stop for those who need them. They strictly enforce quite hours and have plenty of security making their rounds. No generators after 10PM or before 7AM.
You can camp the entire two weeks of the fair if you wish for $10. Yep. Ten Dollars.
I'll try and get some pics of the Cat among the sea of campers this weekend.
Just wondering if anyone else uses their Cats to attend their State Fairs?

Re: State Fairs
OK. So there is a little interest in State Fairs.
We had a great time and the weather was good. Some pretty good musical acts this year as well. Boys like Girls, Hinder, Lady Antebellum, George Jones, ect...
The Freestyle MX and Big Cat (Lions and Tigers) shows were among my favorites. Not to mention all that food. I probably gained 5 lbs last weekend!
There were around 600 - 700 campers there on Saturday. We rolled in Friday afternoon and there were already 400+ campers there. The guy registering the campers told us they were lined up down the street at 5:30AM Thursday morning to get the best (shady) spots.
All our pics are on my wifes cell phone. I'll upload a few this evening.

Boys like Girls, Hinder, Lady Antebellum?
Are they a person, place or thing?
I have heard of George Jones.
What ever happened to Patsy Cline, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Oh yes,,, they are gone. Music will never be the same. .

Re: State Fairs
Never been to the Texas State Fair. Been to the one in Louisiana, but that was years ago before the WC. I prefer to go to the Texas Renaissance Festival. I have a lot of fun watching the people who are visitors more than the people who work there. If anyone has had their WC for the Texas RenFair, where did you camp?
