Colorado-Lake City

Am leaving in early Sept. for trip to CO Planning to go to Lake City. It sounds beautiful. Anybody been there? Suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. I split your post into a new post so you will get better results.
Lake City is nice place in the San Juan mountains; many beautiful places to visit. If you come about the second week of September you will be here when the fall colors are out.
You will probably be coming out on I-70 through Denver to Colorado Springs. Once there, you can proceed to Canon City, Salida, Gunnison, Lake City. The entire route west of Colorado Springs is very nice, you can't go wrong.
