I'm Legal

Post by Richard Mondavi on 8/4/2010, 8:05 am

Well, at least this year I won’t be breaking the law when we visit Yellowstone NP. I always carry a firearm when traveling with our fifth wheel. This upcoming trip to Yellowstone is no different, except that now it is legal to possess a firearm in the national parks. Keep in mind though, this is not an admission that I did anything illegal in the past.

Carrying a gun enables you to have a chance to not be a victim. I worry more about the two legged animals than the four legged ones. Although around here, you have to worry about the no legged ones that slither and rattle.

Does this go for all National CG's?

Yes, but there are restrictions such as visitor centers, etc. Also, state and local gun laws still apply.

Huh, I didn't realize I was breaking the law in the past (not that I am admitting guilt either).

Please, please don't get stopped with a firearm in NY or MA. They will lock you up and throw away the key. Some real bad karma there. Absolutely no sense of humor or sympathy at all.

NOT

These two states (among others) do not share reciprocal laws with states that permit carry in a vehicle.

IL is bad also about having a gun in your camper or vehicle and they will take you to jail. They also do not share reciprocal laws with states that permit .

Rhino,

The last time that I looked at the 2nd Ammendment web site, I think there were either 10 or 11 states out of the lower 48 that do not (DO NOT) observe gun law reciprocity with the other 37 or 38 states that do. Talk about being out of step.
