Rod Batts???

Post by bert and hap on 8/3/2010, 4:07 am

Hello, fellow campers,
We need some help. Is Rod Batts still at Forest River? We sent a letter and pictures a week ago regarding de-lamination on our cat and we haven't heard from him. Just curious if he was still there or if any one knew who else we could contact about our poor workmanship.

Thanks so much
Happy Camping and travels to all.

I do not know if Rod is still with Forest River. I had tried to contact him via e mail about six months ago and I received a response from Kyle Hilliard. Kyle was very helpful in getting some parts shipped to me. I have his e mail address and phone number listed below. He should be able to help you.

When I was at the factory 2 years ago I worked with both Rod and Kyle. Rod was basically customer relations and he had Kyle work with me on ordering parts (through Kyle from the main factory).

I didn't have much trouble with contacting Rod. Sometimes he is out of the office for a while and gets backed up.

My local service manager was doing some on-site warranty work here in town for me and he apparently did have some delays waiting on Rod. I would call and leave a message and follow up with an email. Might even want to contact Kyle and see if he can help?

Talk about fast service, Thank you Kevin/Roxanne; Tom/Sharon and Gary/Glenda for your quick responses. We sure do appreciate it.
We will try Rod again and also contact Kyle. Thanks again for all of your help.

Has any other fellow cat owners had their camper fixed for de-lamination? If so, what method was used and how long did you have to go without your cat.

Happy camping and safe travels to all

If you type in delamination in the search, you will find some information. I know several have had problems and taken the unit back to the factory, but don't remember the time frame for repair.

Bert I am have a Aug 23 date to take my camper back to factory for the delamination problem. It took a couple months to get this appointment after I sent Rod Batts pictures of the problem area.
When you send email to Rod make sure you used WC and last six numbers in the serial number in the subject line. That will give him the year made etc. My 08 was made sometime in July 07. I am taking the WC back on my dime and that helps them on the cost of repairs.

Thanks Rhino, maybe there is hope for us getting our Cat fixed as well. Where are you taking yours for repair, where you purchased?
We will also take your advise on including the last six serial #'s.

Hey, Mopar we will try to get some pics posted as well.

We will keep ya posted on our outcome.

Taking the WC back to Forest River plant 41 55735 CR1, Elkheart, IN. It took about two months Rod Batts to answer me. He had to show the pictures etc to his boss and then they had to schedule me.

Racerx, its when the outter siding get's water behind it and makes the material bubble up. Usually a leak from the roof or water getting in along a window etc....

True Admin, but that is not the only cause, like our issue, manufacturing defect.

If ever I suffer a delamination I hope it is a manufacturing defect, will FR pay shipping cost or just the repair cost. Labour charges in the U.K. Caravan/motor home industry are about £40.00 ($65.00) an hour.

My camper has been at FR since Aug 23 and talk to Rod last Friday and they had a just about have it done now. The glue they used is the problem on my sides. They had lots of Cardinals getting work on when I drop my unit off. Rod was saying I should be able to get it the second week of Oct.

They replace both sides and the back. The back look good to me but Rod had them do everything. They will put in a rain test before they let me have it back looking for leaks. Miss out on two trips that we had plan on making. One to National Story Telling, Johnsbourgh, TN and Natchez Hot Air Balloon.
