Macerator Ordered!

Post by dragynj on 7/28/2010, 6:18 am

Even though I haven't had a chance to get out camping much this summer I haven't slowed down on improvements!

We've used the camper a couple times while it is parked next to our house. BUT it is a pain in the rear to pack it up and pull it to a dump station after every use. Now that my latest guests have departed for home I faced having to dump again. Well, not anymore!

I just purchased the Flojet 1855 portable macerator. I will spend this weekend doing some "permanent" plumbing in the crawlspace of the house to finally create an RV dump! I will post pics once the project is complete. Hoping to get it all tackled this weekend, shouldn't be too hard.

Anyone have any first hand experience with this pump? Read a couple negative comments on it, but far more positive ones. Let me know what your experiences have been!

We have one, but mount it on the end of the sewer pipe when we need it. It work GREAT. We use it when we get home to eliminate the trip to the dump station.

I use one very similar to this and it works great. I have it connected to a 1'' lay flat hose and it pumps about 100' no mess and spills fantastic piece of kit

The flat hose is a good idea. Where did you get it?

I purchased one some time ago to allow me to dump at home, at my liesure and thoroughly clean all holding tanks. Works great, wouldn't be without one anymore.
