Leak under the shower- 32QBBS
Hello to All -
I have the 2008 32qbbs Wildcat with the shower in the cap right behind the bunk beds. I noticed a small water leak in the drivers side compartment where the tubes enter the trailer leading to shower, above the water filter. This leak only occurs when some one is using the shower. I know this is not a water line leak or a fixture, nor connection leak because when no one is using the shower there is no leak and the leak stops. ALSO when all valves in the camper are closed the pump shuts off, that tells me the system is sealed.
Using no shower head or spraying water, with a completley dry shower I filled up the bath tub with water and pulled the plug thinking it might be a drain fixture problem .......no leak . The only thing I can think of is there is no caulking on any of the fixtures from the factory in the shower/bath tub. I culked the fixture and hope this will do the trick-
Has any one else had this problem?
Thanks Jimmy

Yes I had the exact same problem as you. My camper was still under warranty so I took it in and they did what you did. Filled the faucet with caulking so it now weighs 10 #'s.
I haven't had any problems since.

Had the same problem, but it wasn't the faucet seal to the tub that was leaking. Turned out that the shower surround wall where it overlaps the lip on the tub was letting water leak into the access area under the faucet.
After using the shower I would notice the basement was damp just below where the hater hoses turned up into the shower and connected to the back side of the faucet. Had the facet gasket replaced, caulked the faucet, verified hoses, and it still leaked....
Just the lightest spray of water onto the faucet (fromt the shower head) would push water up under the wall and over the tub lip!
Was under warranty and the 3rd attempt (and showing the dork 3x where it was leaking) he filled the lip with caulk and all was good......

Seems like this is a common problem in the cats, we had the same problem with caulking around the shower valves and around the surround. The dealer only did the valves and half of the surround in the area of the door this stopped the leaks. I also did the other half of the surround better safe then sorry.

I found that the idiots who spec these out used a vertical mount faucet on the horizontal garden tub. As soon as you use the shower, water runs into the faucet head and runs down the water tubes. Problem solved by installing correct horizontal mount shower faucet and adding a lot of caulking around it.

I had the same problem. Caulked it up and problem solved...or so I thought. Turns out that the fittings that connected to the faucet were not tight. There is an access panel in the living area to get to the hoses. Be sure that they are tight. I used a rubber jar lid opener so I could get them super hand-tight. Every now and again I check ALL the connections.

Re: Leak under the shower- 32QBBS
We have recently had this same problem. We caulked all around the original faucet, and it still leaked. (The leak is coming from around the holes for the hot/cold water handles in the access panel.) We belive that it is caused by water building up in the faucet by way of the diverter pull and then dumping under the tub into the access panel and then eventually in to the driver side storage compartment. (Also the laundry area)
We have now replaced the faucet with one given to us by our camping center where we bought our camper, and are having the same problem. Today they gave us another faucet that is strictly for a shower with no spout and obviously no diverter.
I have a 16 month old daughter who loves taking a bath and my wife is a little bothered by not having a spout. I have not installed the new faucet yet so I am not sure yet if it will do away with the leak.
I would like to find a 'horizontal mount shower faucet' like Steve suggested. Does this have a spout for the tub? Where can I purchase?
Thanks!

I got mine from an RV dealer. It does have the bath spout, just meant to sit on the flat top of the tub versus the vertical wall of a shower.

Re: Leak under the shower- 32QBBS
Thanks, Steve. That is actually what we already have. We tried reinstalling that one. We used what seemed like a ton of silicone and caulk, and let it set up for several days. Tested it again today, and still have a leak.
I guess we are just going to install the other faucet with out the tub spout tomorrow and see how that works.
This has really been a headache.
If anyone else has any suggestions, please feel free to offer them.
