How to remove Microwave Oven
I have a 2003 Wildcat, model 29RLS and the microwave oven died on us during a trip to Michigan last week. Anyone know how to get the two top mounting screws out in order to remove the oven? It appears the RV was built around the oven because there seems to be no way to get to the top plate to remove the screws. Any ideas?

Re: How to remove Microwave Oven
A friend of mine owns a Cougar. They dropped the glass plate that
rotates, while cleaning. Looks like a replacement will run $50-80
plus shipping.
Personally I think it'd be cheaper to just ripout and replace the microwave.

Okay, here's some pics. The oven has two mounting screws that come down from the top (circled in red). There is no way to get to the top of these screws to remove them. There is a 3/4 inch wood section on top of the oven and then the top of the slide out. I think the section of wood has to come out but I can't figure out how. You can see some screws in the front of the wood above the oven (coming out of the wood-great workmanship, huh) but there is no access to above the wood board to remove them.

I'm guessing here, so apologies if this is all wrong. It looks to me like there are screws coming down freom the upper wooden piece into the wood immediately above your microwave. I think these screws may be holding up the micorwave. Can you find a way to look at the top surface of the slide out? What is the fabric showing at the top edge of the photos; if its some kind of valance see if you can remove it.
Good luck.
Good luck.

There is no access to the screws coming through the upper wooden piece. The fabric at the top edge of the photo is the front trim to the slide out. The top of the slide out is solid.

If you run in the slide in can you see the top surface of the slide behind the front trim?
I can see four screws on the front edge of the laminated wood piece (there are two skins, one above and one below, the solid wood core). The one definitely appears to be coming down from above. Do you have access to a small metal detector? Maybe you could find hidden screw heads from above with one of those.

Re: How to remove Microwave Oven
Heres my 1cent guess.
At the bottom of the screws it looks like its squared off for a small wrench to fit on there.
I'm guessing it just turns on top of the microwave but as your turning , it backs out of the wood above.
