Second AC unit
I would like to add a second AC unit up front in the bedroom area, for those that have a second AC unit and are still using a 30 amp service how did you wire the unit ?

Re: Second AC unit
I added one in the rear bedroom on my 32qbbs. I ran a wire through the ceiling down the wall and mounted a junction box on the frame with a male end for a 20 amp drop cord. I plug into the 20 amp outlet on the CG post. Was pretty simple to do other than fishing the wire across the roof trusses. I bought a coleman Mach 1 that only suppose to draw 12 amps. Its a 13500btu and keeps my bedroom I mean "Mancave"
just right!

I was looking at the Polar Cub 9200 BTU unit and was thinking of doing the same wiring configuration. How did you access the wall to run the wire, or is the wall area open at the ceiling to fish a wire without drilling holes in a top plate.

Re: Second AC unit
Bedroom is in the back so I was able to pull out the pantry cabinets to gain access. I knew these all came out in one piece because when I looked at my camper I pulled on the cabinet door and the whole piece fell out. The dealer had it out for a show or something. Under my wardrobe there was also a panle door with four screws that I used. I would look around for a small access panel. Maybe someone on here knows of one for the front bedroom. To get through the floor I just used an existing opening for the water lines going to the rear water tank.
Good Luck

Re: Second AC unit
The original 13.5K A/C unit on a single unit trailer is ducted to all living spaces in the trailer (except the water closet [at least on our 29RLBS]).
So, for you guys who have added a second unit, how did you integrate the new unit into the trailer without upsetting the TStat for the original A/C unit? Did you block off the ductwork to the area that the new A/C unit serves?
Just wondering.

Yes I had changed my ducts covers to the louvers that is posted on this forum. I just close the ducts in the rear bedroom and that allows more air to the front and center area. If it gets real hot we leave the bedroom door open and let some of the air blow into the main living area. I usually run the rear unit on low and let the main unit cycle on high as needed.
