old picture

Post by rdsknfn_57 on 7/10/2010, 4:50 pm

I found this picture today of my first camper that i built in 1985. We took this trailer all over Ca. and Na. and until 6 months ago it was still in my back yard, i gave it to a friend for a play house for his grandkids. It was basically just a bed on wheels. it had lights, paneling, carpet and a small fan inside. We used it until we bought our 1st rv tt in 1992, i kept it covered over years and one day a friend said that sure would make a cute play house. I tried to make the picture bigger but keep getting distorted, notice that the bottom picture is from a camera that after a picture was taken it would pop out the front and you could see it materalize right before you eyes, no really it would , if you have old pictures i'd like to see them

I wish we had seen your homemade camping trailer. By 1985 Scruffy's job got so demanding we sold our trailer (a 23 foot Prowler), and didn't get back into camping until 2006.

We have a few pictures of our old Fleetwing - the one that's in our signature below.

I'm in the process of scanning old photos. I can do 5 or 6 photos on one scan depending on the size of the photo. Those old school photos that accumulate over the years are small, and I can fit around 10 on the scanner, keeping next to the edges so they stay straight. I've done around 225 scans and am now in the process of cropping individual pictures out of the scans. Then I put the individuals in separate folders by decade. I have 91 more scans to crop, then I'll start on another box. A lot of those photos are from our old Kodak instant camera. Kodak got sued by Polaroid and lost, so they had to quit making theirs. We got a cash settlement from Kodak and bought a Milolta. I'm hoping to find some photos of our old BeeLine. It was bigger than the Fleetwing and had a toilet and holding tank. If I find some, I'll post them.
