Slide out issue?

Slide out issue?
Not sure if I'm actually having a problem or not. . . .
The last 2 times I've deployed the slides on my QBBS it has a funny sound to it. It really has a hard time pushing the main slide out and there is an occasional alarm sound (high pitched BEEEEEEP), but very occasional and almost seems unrelated. I've checked the usual suspects to see if it is binding anywhere (the pantry doors and the closet by the bedroom door) and nothing. Something just seems off. However, when I go to pull the slide in, it comes in like a champ! Nothing seems wrong whatsoever. . . . I should note that the camper is stored with the slides deployed and they slides are out more often then they are in, but not sure this should be an issue.
Looking for any suggestions that anyone has. Other areas to look? Areas to grease? Anyone went through this before?

Re: Slide out issue?
The newer models say not to grease or oil the gears on the frame. Mine was squeaking a little so I put some dry lube on there. Just a small amount and it seemed to appreciate it.
Thats probably all you need to do is give it a small squirt of some lube. Mine seems to look different going out than coming in. Just be sure that you have the front door OPEN when you bring it in or out.
You can feel the air that its moving while standing in the doorway. You can pop your windows out if you don't. If you haven't upgraded your auto breakers yet, I'd go ahead and do that also.

Re: Slide out issue?
Thanks! I did notice that there is a lot of air being pushed when bringing the slide in, it actually opens the door for me if it's not latched all the way. I guess I never thought that it have the same effect going out. Good point, now I can't remember if I had the door open or not. . . .hmmmm

Just out of curiosity, how is your battery. Was the unit plugged in when you tried to Deploy? How about when you brought them in? The alarm sound makes me think of the sniffer.

Have to agree with moo on this one. I just replaced my propane detector (aka sniffer) because it would "beep" anytime I ran the slides. Battery was charged but the sniffer would just go crazy any time I hit ran the slides..... $54 later and all is good!
Good luck!

I would have to agree with moo2613 in checking the battery. I was having same trouble with my slide. It didn't matter if the trailer was plugged in to the truck or land line. I replaced the trailer battery and all is fine.

I'd like to think the batteries are A-OK as they were new last June, but I did leave them in the camper over the winter. . . .
Unit was plugged in both times I have ran into this problem though, is that good or bad? Are you guys suggesting it's the batteries or the sniffer? I have had problems with my detector in the coach while running the hwh on propane.
Having said all that, the alarm sound almost sounds like it's coming from the storage area. . . not in the coach. Is there another sniffer under there?
Thanks for the replies!

Try unhooking the sniffer, you have to remove 2 screws and then unhook one of the wires. Then run the slide, if you still get an alarm, that will remove the sniffer from the question. My Cat did not have an alarm in the basement, but that's not to say that yours doesn't.
About the battery thing. What I was wondering is when you deploy, has it recently been charged by the converter or not. What I was thinking is that when you set-up, battery could be low, but when you pull it in, you were probably plugged in for a while so the battery would be charged. That being said, I realize that you have not gotten to use it yet this year, so it most likely doesn't fit this situation.
The sniffer will alarm when the battery is low. Kinda like it is trying to emphasize the slow death of the battery. When you run the slide, if the battery is low, it will beeeeeeep at you. But then the slide usually stops at that point also due to lack of power.
