WDW Fire Stations
FYI, Firefighters. I'll bet some of you know this.
If you are planning a trip to Disney World, take along an embroidered patch from your fire department. When you are in the Magic Kingdom, as you come through the tunnel under the train tracks, on the left side of the square is a little Fire Station. It is a gift shop where you can get some neat t-shirts and other souvenirs. They have a display of patches from fire departments all over and will put yours on display if you give it to them. It's kind of impressive.
There are a couple real Disney (Reedy Creek) fire stations on Buena Vista Drive. One is near the Boardwalk/Disney Studios area, and one is across from Downtown Disney. I believe you can arrange to go on a tour of at least one of these stations. You could probably ask at the Main Street Square fire station about details - or if you are staying at a Disney resort, guest services might have the info, and might even be able to book a tour for you. I've heard it's a nice tour.
We're not firefighters or retired firefighters, but can count several among our family and friends. We respect and appreciate all of you.
Thanks.
Tater
