Getting warm
Today it got up to 106 degrees here in Redding Calif., which is about normal for this time of year. I must say that when we were in Kentucky when it was 86 degrees, it was much more comfortable here at 106. When it goes past 110, it is uncomfortable here. It is so great to be retired. We took a nice 90 mile drive into the forest, and enjoyed the wildlife and views. The young people go up to the lakes when it gets hot here. Since we had a good rainfall last year, all the lakes are full.

YIKES, 106 is hot no matter where you live.
I loved the photos of the lakes. I couldn't get the link to Shasta Lake to work. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Getting warm
Yeah, it went from winter to spring here over the weekend. 95° yesterday. We turned the AC on in the house for the first time this year on Sunday. I don't usually fire it up unless it's uncomfortable.
I drove by Whiskeytown Lake a few months back when I had to look at a job in Eureka (Earthquake damage from January). It looked like a nice lake. The shoreline access looks limited though.

Re: Getting warm
Just returned home from Snowshoe Mountain ski resort here in WV. GNCC dirt bike and ATV race held over the weekend. Biggest, baddest, largest payout race of the entire GNCC series.
Upper 70's to 81 on the hottest day. Upper 50's to low 60's at night. Bright blue skies with no trace of humidity. Non stop wind on the mountaintop made for extreme comfort.
It was 66 degrees at 10:30 Monday morning when we left the mountain. We returned home 4 hours away and 4500' lower. It was a blazing 90 degrees, no wind whatsoever with extreme humidity. Thats been the normal here at home for a month now.
I can't wait to get back to the mountains in two weeks.
