Use it or lose it?
First topic message reminder :
Just wondering how many nights the average forum member has spent in their Wildcat this year so far.
Lets say from Jan. 1st until June 30th. Do not include towing days; Only nights slept in your Cat.
How many nights have you spent or will spend in your Cat by June 30th?
By June 30 we will have spent 25 nights in our Cat this year.
I plan to start another thread late in the year with dates ranging from July 1st through December. With this info we can get an idea of how many nights and what time of year most of us use our Cats.

Scruffy and Tater -- Sorry to hear the news. Scruffy, take care of the foot. Hope it isn't the throttle foot, so you can at least get around.

Only five nights on two trips so far. That will be changing tomorrow. Leaving for Maine and New Brunswick. We'll be logging many more days the second half of the year.

"Use It Or Lose It" results:
For a more accurate reading I tossed out the highest and lowest numbers reported by our members. Appologies to Shrowang and Glen.
One of you is having way too much fun and the other better get with it and USE IT OR LOSE IT!
We had 29 total replies minus the two above leaves us with 27.
Wildcat Forum members have averaged 18 nights slept in their campers through the first six months of 2010.

Don't you have to sleep in it 40 nights a year to write off the interest on your taxes? If that is the case, some of us better get to it!!!

Looks like I'll be learning how to drive a Deere.
Tater
Well, I'm learning how to drive that Deere. I mowed the front yard Thursday and about half of the back yard Friday (difficult half where I had to drive around a lot of stuff). Lots of times thats about all that Scruffy mows - and he hasn't mowed the back half for a couple weeks, so I'm going to have to get out there soon. I used to mow 3 acres in Gulfport, MS with a Snapper. The Deere has a bigger mowing deck, and all we have here is an acre.
Scruffy has a boot (tri shell pneumatic upright walker) and crutches. He can take the boot off while he's watching TV. He can put his foot on the ground when he's using the crutches if he's wearing the boot. Without the boot, he can't put his foot on the ground. So, it's going to be awhile before we get to go on one of our 3 day mid-week camping trips.
Not going to "lose it" though. Maybe we can get out in the early fall, and we have reservations for WDW's Fort Wilderness in December.

We've spent 16 days in our new cat since delivery May 20th, went straight to Wyoming and S. Dakota, over 4000 miles on fist trip. I guess we broke it in right.

Re: Use it or lose it?
We look at our RV'ing a little differently. We keep our WC on our property, so we do not have to pay for storage. We paid cash, so we do not have interest to pay. We enjoy short day trips, so we use our car for those trips. We did take a around the USA trip this year, because we wanted to see the east coast, but we enjoy being home in our house. Our main plans for the use of our WC is to take it to the coast in July and August when it gets over 105 degrees here for a week or two. We are old and retired, so time is not an issue, but for us, a month is a long time to be in the small confines of our WC, or for that matter any size RV. We live in a beautiful area of Northern Calif. that has mountains, streams, rivers, lakes, and forest, so we do not have to travel to see these things.
I know many people are full timers, but for us, that would not work. I enjoy puttering around in the shop to much.
Anyway,,, it is good that all of us have RV's for what ever reasons.

Agree with you Maxtor, enjoy being around the house/shop. We take a month in the spring and 1 in the fall. Been to west coast 5 times, east coast 6. North to Wis/Michigan twice and south to Tx 4. Have about 50k mi on the WC. Also take short 3-5 day trips around here (NE OK).
Love to travel, but home is home.

Hey Glen;
On our trip we looked at some property in Columbia Ky. Beautiful property, but we must have been there at the worst day. Humidity was unbearable. Hope it is better at your place.

Re: Use it or lose it?
3 days over Memorial weekend in Wisconsin, camping and fishing. 5 days in June in Northern Minnesota, camping and fishing. 2 days in June in Wisconsin for a family reunion. Would have started earlier but still working long hours in April and May. More camping and fishing to come this summer and a few road trips somewhere.
