Looking at Used 2010 Wildcat 27 footer

Post by fjo on 6/15/2010, 1:21 pm

I know this is a Wildcat forum, but how dependable have they been? How much warranty do they have? I saw a couple of videos about water leaks. I know Forest River make good campers but I also know that Wildcat is not a top of the line Forest River camper also. Just wanting some opionions. Thanks

I have 2 friends that have 2010 Cats and they both love them, I have a 2008 and we are enjoying it. One of the 2010 had minor adjustment that had to be made and the other one had nothing wrong. On my Cat I had 2 minor problem the the dealership was able to take care of in a few hours. The next 3 weekend will tell us the story for us, we have 3 trips planed. From 40 mile to a little over 200 one way.
I don't know if that helps you and your decision good luck and welcome to the forum.

We currently have a 35 foot travel trailer and was looking for a little shorter camper in a fifth wheel model.

Thanks for the advice

Welcome to the forum.

Mines a 07' 32ft qbbs, I've been through some monsoon storms with no leaks. I made a little frame that goes under the big slideout awening that helps with keeping the water off of it.

Only other problem I've had was with the heater that needed a good cleaning.

Mines been from coast to coast and a lot of shorter hauls with no problems.

A lot of bang for the buck with the wildcats.

I've seen just as many complaints with other RV's that were in the higher end market. A friend at work had a Coachman motorhome from the upper end style that stayed in the shop the first year so much he barely got to use it.
So theres a bad one that comes down any production line.

For the price, you can't beat'em.

As for towing, I've put my 32'er in some tight places without moving the slide. Theres only 3 of us and I don't think I could go any smaller.

Why is this 2010 used? I realize some people change their minds, or something happens that MAKES them change their minds. Just find it unusual to see such a used 2010 being sold.

It could be a early 2010 model which was produced in April or a little later 2009. Our Cat is a 2005 model and was delivered end of May 2004 (they start the production of the new model year in April).

Supposedly an older couple bought it and the husband pass away. I expected it again today and there was some flooring coming up on the edges and a cabinet was coming apart. They are asking 22000. Don't know if that is a reasonable price or not.

You could get a 2011 for $25K at RVwholesalers brand new. I'd shoot for that option.
