oil free beach in Floridia

Post by jeepingjason on 6/14/2010, 3:30 pm

We have reservations in Destin ,FL @ Henderson Beach State Park for the week after the fourth of July, problem is the oil is floating a few miles out right now. Does anyone here know of a park to stay at with a beach and lots of stuff close by with out driving too far south in FL (less time driving, more beach time) We really like state parks but a private will be ok too.

Thanks in advance.....

Destin is a great place to visit. No oil on the beachs in Destin that I know. I live 45 miles to the west in Pensacola and we have oil on the beach and inter-coastal water way. You can still visit the beach and have a great time and swim. They did close the beach in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, AL.

I had a hunch a few weeks ago that the oil would drive the fish and other kritters to the shores and shallow waters. Read a article today that said they'd closed fishing on some piers because the fish had hearded up around in those areas trying to excape the oil.

And you know the other kritter that comes with them > The little dudes with the big fins.......
