Looking For TrailAir EquaFlex "Wet Bolt" Kit

Post by KILO on 6/11/2010, 9:48 am

Okay, I just ordered a set of EquaFlex 6K suspension hangers for my Wildcat, and wanted to also get a wetbolt kit. The lady told me they didn't have any to sell, and have not had any for some time. She also couldn't tell me when they were expecting to have any to sell. WTFO? Does anyone have any idea where else I can get this wetbolt kit besides from TrailAir?

I just bought a set from these guys. Part # eqwb2, $49 + $12 shipping.

You could also try TrailAir

Contact Mor-Ride, They sell a "wet bolt" kit that will work with the TrailAir. It is even better than the one that TrailAir sales. I believe it does cost more tho.

Wetbolts

Post by 2USARetired on 6/30/2010, 3:56 pm

OK, I'm a newbie - just purchased a 2008 29RLBS Cat - so I'll take my chances and ask: What are wet bolts and why would they be needed.

Thanks

The wet-bolts are for the Equaflex suspension to grease the bushings. These bolts have a zerk-fitting to pump grease used to lubricate and help with wear.
Here are some examples:

I just tried to purchase wet bolts from Trailair and Tweetys. Both were out, they both said there is an inventory shortage. Interestingly they both said they don't see any difference in wear between regular shackle bolts and wet bolts? Since I need to get the Cat back in shape to run the road, I skipped the wet bolts.

Well, they told me the same thing when I ordered my EquaFlex. I told the lady to still place the order for the wet bolts, and I would wait till whenever if they were backordered. When I got the EquaFlex in, I had a complete wet bolt set included. And she told me that they were all out, no one had them in stock, and she had no idea when they would start production again. But, I got em. :)

Is the TrailAir Equaflex standard on a wild cat or is it fitted as an upgrade. it's fitted to my 30lsbs but the bolts do not have a nipple for grease. Also the bolt heads/threads and nuts on mine are very rusty so I will most probably look to replace them soon
