They are saying 20 confirmed dead now and the coroner is expecting more.

Just got done looking at film footage of the aftermath. The flood destroyed cabins and RVs alike. I can't imagine the horror of experiencing something like that!!

I'll bet Brad (moo) will have something to add when he has a chance to get on-line again. I think that's practically in his back yard!

Our prayers go out to the families. Several years ago we just moved from the campground in Estes Park CO. before the dam broke and flooded the campground and the town. Every day you have to make the most of what you have.

Did you see the Wildcat 5th wheel on the news in the Arkansas flood on Fox news. Again our prayers go out to the families.

Is everybody here accounted for???

A couple of pictures off the AP wire. What's left of a couple of RVs from the CG.

The weather channel said the river rose from 3.5 ft to 23.5 ft in just 3 hours; from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Most didn't have much time to react. Even though the national weather service had put out a flash flood warning for the area, the CG never got the information.

This is why we keep a NOAA weather radio in the RV and turned on at all times during inclimate weather!!

HEy TC, Moo's last visit on here was May 26th. Have you talked to him lately ? I hope he wasn't there.

He had a reservation for a ferry on June 9. That was a return trip. I don't think he could have gotten as far as West
Arkansas in such a short time. And, he probably went or will go straight home once he gets close.

Thanks everybody for your concern. We are ok along with all of our friends. We have friends who frequent that campground, but we have never stayed there. We do stay every year at the one everybody is seeing on the news of the canoe rental place with the green shed roof sticking above the water. We usually stay under the trees in the background, about 30' below the water level.

The problem with that area, is that there is no cell service at all. You are in the mountains and most people do not even stay in a campground setting. It is one of the only areas around here that you can just camp like you can out west.

Alot of people from the area lost a family member in the ordeal, some were lucky enough to find them, but unfortunately, not all. Thanks again for your concern.

Brad, I'm glad you got back safe.

I KNEW you weren't in that CG at the time, cuz in all the pictures of the aftermath, there wasn't a single 30 foot slideout laying around.
