Another Mod
I asked Scruffy to make this for me. Do you know what it's for?

Re: Another Mod
No. But it looks interesting. It sure isn't for holding the 5th wheel up. It it for height measurement when hooking up?

Re: Another Mod
No... good guess, but way off. Scruffy made it specifically for me, although he might be able to use it.

Is it to turn on lights in the ceiling of your WC? I know I could use something like that.

Re: Another Mod
It is so that when you park you can mark the height of the pin before you unhook. That way when it is time to hook back up you can move the pin to that height before getting in the truck.

My guess is it's intended to raise or hold something up.

Wow! I didn't know there were so many good uses for my contraption..... they're all wrong, though. One of them, in a sort of topsy-turvy way is kind of close.

If it is electrically charged then I suppose it could be a prod to get Scruffy to do more mods :)

Re: Another Mod
Scruffy just loves to do mods. Almost every day he'll ask me what kind of mod I'd like him to do.
Okay, maybe not. He does seem to enjoy doing them, though..... even the challenging ones.
Scott,
The first time I saw your sprinkler valve handle vent opener, I copied it to Paint, and saved it - for Scruffy to do sometime in the future. He says I don't need a vent opener as long as I have him.

Re: Another Mod
I didn't want to say what it is for until we could test it. But, we won't be taking the Cat out until Monday, and wouldn't be using this device until Wednesday. The suspense is killing me, too!
My original design had 4 legs, but we decided that we'd try it with 2 legs because it would be easier to store. Scruffy will attach it to the ceiling of the basement with broom clamps.
Well, I've given you some clues and could wait until someone guesses right, but this has gone long enough.
What led up to this idea: We were dumping our tanks. My job during this process is to hold the hose down with my foot. Well, last time we dumped, there was a lot of water around the drain hole, and I couldn't get close enough to stay balanced, so - my foot slipped into the yucky water.
Contaminated shoe. So, I thought about it for awhile and decided I needed a sewer hose holder. We'll take a picture to show how it works.
We appreciate the guesses. Scruffy regards them as suggestions. He particularly likes the idea of using the device to get the water off the slide covers. Using it to turn on/off the overhead lights would be a good use, but this thing is NEVER going to get inside the living area.
Scruffy is 6 ft. He was 6 ft 2 in before his two laminectomies (back surgeries). He can reach a lot of stuff inside the trailer. If it's something that he can't reach, he uses our handy Kik-step stool.

Well, NOW we know! I wouldn't a guessed that one in a million years!!
Obviously, from all the guesses, it'll end up being an outside multi-tool.

These are some GREAT MODS that even I (the most unhandy handyman alive) will attempt. Exellent pics and information. The DW thanks you now, but may have different comments when I get started.

I highly suggest not to do that with anything. The weight of the water and you poking something up from underneath will rip the material...... Don't ask me how I know. Thats why I made the PVC frame to go under my topper.

Here's a follow-up on the sewer hose holder - it works.
