leak on the hydralic pump

Post by pioneerman on 6/7/2010, 2:51 pm

had a leak on the hydralic pump for the slide out and it looks like a bad seal between the pump and the reservoir. i went to the dealer in oklahoma city today and the shop foreman said they couldnt order the seals. lippert wants to replace the whole unit. went to camper world and they gave me and address that makes seals. i took the pump apart tonight and it is just and o-ring that i believe i can get at and oil field supply store. im going to check tomorrow BUT my question is has anyone had to replace the o-ring on their pump and does it take a special one. the shop foreman told me that rubber will only last a couple of years on the with the hydralic fluid.

Had the same thing happen, shop replaced entire unit. I work with chemicals in my environmental business, if you can find a vitron o-ring this will not be damaged by the hydraulic fluid. If you have a pressure washing equipment supplier near you they should have the vitron o-ring. Good luck and let us know how you make out several people have asked this same question if your able to repair it, it may help others later.
