Hooking up a HDTV??
Sorry I ask questions then don't get back to everyone that helps, but I write everything down and then when we pick up the trailer from storage we try what we asked.
Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about the heat, and CTS hinge system. We are going to try the piano/hamper hinge and from the way it looks it should work (will send pictures).
New question has come up. We are loading for our FIRST TRIP other than the driveway. We bought a HDTV today and wiring it into the Concertone system is a pain in the rump. After two (I am not kidding) hours I finally got a picture to appear on the screen. First problem is the sound from the main speakers sounds odd, not staticy but the outside speakers and bedroom speakers sound a lot clearer. Any ideas??? Second problem is we don't have our Dish network installed in the trailer, but we were just going to use the roof antenna to watch tv. What jack do we use in the unit and do we use a coax cable???
I don't want to spend the whole weekend trying to figure out how to watch TV.
Thanks everyone

But that's the fun of having a new camper.

MountainMaxx,
First question; what model 5th wheel do you have and you may want to add that to your signature.
Second; do Cd's and radio sound good on the front speakers?
Make sure to check all the threads in this forum and the "other" forum as there are pictures and topics discussing they workings of the Concertone as well as how to hookup new TV's. Where in Colorado do you live?

Re: Hooking up a HDTV??
MountainMaxx,
If you click on "GALLERY"/Users Personal Albums/Scottz, you will find a picture of the drawing for the Audio/Video layout of the 29RLBS which is similar enough to all units.
In order to just watch TV via the antenna, and provided you have hooked up the new TV to the Video out from the Concertone, you will not need an additional coax cable. The coax cable jumper is only needed if you intend to use a dish outside the trailer or park cable system into the Wildcat. The TV antenna goes directly into the Concertone so you will need to select "TV" on the concertone and select the "Antenna" as the input source. Also, you will need to turn on the amplified portion of the antenna by pressing the button on the Winegard 12 volt/RF distribution panel that will likely be located in the bedroom. Remember to turn off the button when the TV is not being used as it will drain the battery if left on.

Re: Hooking up a HDTV??
Thanks for the advise, Dave.
I looked at the diagram that scott has posted. I figuared out how to get a picture on the TV, by pushing the button up in the master bedroom. I did noticed that the TV DOES NOT work in conjuntion with the Concertone ( meaning I hear sound only through the TV speakers).
The problem we are having is the sound coming out of the speakers in the main area (4 surround sound speakers) not the center channel. It sounds like just air whishing. This happens when a DVD is playing or listening to the radio. I might pull out the system and check the wiring.
Also, Thornton Colorado..
Thanks again all.

Re: Hooking up a HDTV??
MountainMaxx,
If you are hearing sound through your TV than either you wired the audio from the Concertone to your TV or you are feeding the antenna to your TV and using that. Personally, if the TV is brand new it will have an HD receiver in it and I would recommend using that as opposed to the Concertone for the signal. The reason being that the Concertone does not have a HDTV receiver in it and in Feb. 09, you will not receive any off-air signal. If the TV set has audio outpus, which it should, you can wire the TV audio to the AUX input of the Concertone.
As far as the speakers, myself included, many have had problems with the speaker wiring and this could be the problem as well. But, you might also check that the center channel speaker level is turned up. This will be a menu item in the Concertone so consult your manual.
I used to live in Thornton (Colorado and 120th) before moving to the southern end of town.
If you still have problems and not sure what to do, just PM me and I'll try and make some time to come and give you a hand.

Re: Hooking up a HDTV??
The new model ZX600 Concertones do NOT have a TV tuner built into them...........
There is No TV mode to select from on the Concertone. All they do is DVD/CD/AM-FM/Weather.
I was just at my dealer checking out his new line of FR Toyhaulers...The XLR. Very nice.
They use a Kenwood 12volt head unit that is a DVD/CD/ Radio/ surround sysytem also, so I may look into replacing the CT with one of those.

Re: Hooking up a HDTV??
That's interesting Steve, because my ZX600 sure has a TV tuner.

Is it really a Zx600????
I've seen some that had Zx600 on the front and a ZX500 label on the rear...........
I just know mine does not have anything to do with tuning the TV.......

Sounds like Concertone is messing with us. Mine says ZX600 on the front and ZX550 on the rear label. (my original one said ZX500 on the rear lable, can't recall what it said on the front). When I scroll through "function" one of the options is TV. This is a TV tuner and it works.
