Rutledge Lake Campground, Fletcher, NC (South of Asheville)

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend while my daughter played travel ball in Asheville. This is a very clean campground and has a large lake that everyone I talked to said you can catch fish all day long in. I didn't get a chance to wet a hook due to ballgames all weekend. They have some weird rules (IMO) like fires must be out by 10:30pm and cold by 11. Kids can't wear t-shirts in the pool. They have a gate which is closed at night. You get a swipe card to get in after the store closes the gate. All in all it was a decent place to spend the weekend. A few negatives is the sites are really small simply because its an older campground. My 32QBBS filled up my site from end to end. Parking is not existant. We had two vehicles so I had to park my big truck beside the camper and parked our small truck in front so it wouldn't stick out in the road. I have read several post of people on here staying at the East Asheville KOA. I drove up and looked at the KOA and was not impressed at all. This campground is much nicer and only a few miles up the road. They also have cabins. The campground gets quite at dark unlike some places I have been. I would stay again but try to get a site on the lake or one that is a little bigger.

One pull thru site. This site had something you don't see everyday. A Wildcat TT. I stopped and talked to the guy and told him about the forum. Hopefully he will check it out.
