Problem with Gas Detector

Post by ronms on 6/1/2010, 1:53 pm

Our propane gas detector goes off periodically. All gas if off and there is no smell of gas. Sometimes it is short beeps and other times it is a continuous beep. It finally stops by itself. No real pattern to it other than it seems to usually go off on rather warm humid mornings.

Anyone else ever had a problem with theirs? The guy at Camping World told me they rarely go bad. Any ideas?

Do you have a dog?
Believe it or not, they can set them off.

Ours did that, I just bought a replacement and didn't have any issues since.

LP detectors have an expiration date on them. I don't know why but they do. I'd just install a new one.
