Water Pump runs dry for 3 days...
and lives!
Not sure how it happened but I left my pump on and running.
Today I open the door and hear a soft humming (just hours before we leave for the weekend to a CG with no water HU) and realize the horrid truth.. that our Shureflow 5.7 sensor is probably toast and worst of all, theres just no way to blame Grace.
I shut it down and put my hand on it.. its warm but not really hot (or at maybe thats was just what the tiny, shriveled-up optimist in me wanted to think).
I loaded the tank with water and much to my delight, it works perfectly!!!
So now were off to Kanaskat-Palmer state CG.
Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend too!
Cheers,
Scott

Wow, bet that made your heart sink. Glad they were made tough.

That's the great thing about RV water pumps, they can run dry with no harm.

To make matters worse, a couple of years ago I relocated the pump to a small, enclosed area under the bed so that it would draw from the tank better but the down side to that mod was that there's very little air movement around it. I've monitored its temp during showers and such and the little pump never got hot. The new location sure made the pump work better though, being just 16" above the tank instead of being at the end of 20+' of horizontal run.
We used the pump all weekend without any problems.
